Continuing with our series on capturing street musicians across the world, after Denver this time its Edinburgh.
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and in located in the cooler climes of northern UK. Every year, Edinburgh hosts its annual summer festival of various arts, music, theatre, films in August month. In addition to the official Edinburgh International Festival, it also holds the legendary Fringe festival at the same time. The story goes that Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which is world’s largest open-access (free) festival was started because some of the theatre groups “gatecrashed” by organizing their own event after prohibited entry to perform at the official festival in 1947.
We spent three glorious days exploring the city and its culture at its peak during the Festival time. The entire city is buzzing with activities on streets – be it plays, musical concerts, comedy acts or just street imagery. I captured this violin player engrossed in playing Godfather theme on the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Truly mesmerizing!
