Our trip to Istanbul in Oct 2015 was memorable not only for the amazing city that it is but also for wonderful time we had at the service apartment in the Beyoglu area by MySuite Istanbul. With great location, friendly neighbourhood interspersed with cozy European cafes and a terrace with a view, MySuite provides a fantastic base while visiting Istanbul.

MySuite Istanbul Apartments are located in the heart of the city in Cihangir neighbourhood of the Beyoğlu area of Istanbul. As aptly described by the owners, the neighbourhood has the SoHo feel of the city. It is perched on a hill overlooking Bosphorous and Old City which makes quite a spectacle. Interestingly, the neighbourhood consists majority of local Turkish residential apartments. And it boasts of quite of few Turkish artists, musicians and actors residences. The most popular amongst them is Nobel Laureate Orhan Pahmuk. In fact his ‘Museum of Innocence’ is also just few minutes’ walk from the apartments.

For tourists like us, Cihangir is a more youthful of Istanbul neighbourhoods with a cafe culture. It has many wonderful restaurants which focus on small menus of fresh, seasonal food. In particular, we enjoyed our ‘kahvalti’ which is Turkish breakfast at an organic restaurant named Datli Maya.

But the biggest location USP is that it is just 10 mins off Taksim Square and the bustling, crowded Istiklal street. And the neighborhood is conveniently placed at 5 mins walking distance from a tram station which makes it very easy to commute to the Sultanahmet district where most historic attractions, sites & the best of Istanbul are located.

MySuite Istanbul has a few properties in the area. We chose to stay at PIYA’s Terrace which as name suggests is a terrace apartment. The building is a heritage structure and does not have elevator. Hence, we had to climb the stairs to our terrace apartment with our suitcases and low light. This was the only negative aspect about the apartment as it can be particularly inconvenient for kids and seniors.

The stair climb was worth every bit for the amazing view from the terrace. We could view Sultanehment Mosque, Galatta Tower and entire Beyoglu view from our terrace. The terrace had cozy chairs and coffee-table – perfect for morning coffee sip with a spectacular skyline for company.

The apartment was a clean, single room with open kitchen and connected terrace. The room had bohemian feel with typical Turkish interiors. Turkish influence was evident in turquoise tiled bathroom, kitchen, upholstery and furniture. The apartment was well-equipped with all necessary facilities – WiFi and Cable Internet, 32″ TV and DVD player, air conditioner, dish-washer, refrigerator, toaster, washing machine, hot water shower, microwave and basic cooking utensils.

The double-bed was elevated and had a sliding glass ceiling which provided amazing sky-view while sleeping.

USP of MySuite – its hosts

The USP of MySuite has to be its courteous hosts. Our host Cihan was exceptionally helpful and friendly. He provided helpful recommendations on places to visit to make the most of our short 3-day trip. Also, he offered us a local mobile phone for local calls including calls to him if we needed anything. In addition, he also provided us with a travel card. It came in handy for our metro commutes to Old Town. He provided complimentary fruits, bottled water, milk and Turkish delight! Our stay at Istanbul was comfortable because of Cihan. We highly recommend MySuite to all Ghumrs traveling to this historic city & wondering where to stay in Istanbul. Beyoglu is one of the best areas to stay in Istanbul & Mysuite probably one of the best short stay apartments in Istanbul.

Thanks for posting those beautiful pictures. Istanbul is one of my favorite places in the world to visit, comfortable but not so touristy that it has lost the things that make it beautiful. Now I feel inspired to visit there again.
