Starfish at Ganaptipule beach

Starfish or sea stars are amazingly beautiful animals thriving in the sea in different colors, sizes and even shapes. We came across this blue-colored starfish on the golden sands of Ganapatipule beach. Although, the one we saw is five-armed more abundant species of sea star, they are not just five-arm shaped but can be of different shapes. In fact, starfish have the ability to regenerate lost arm which comes in handy when predators attack them. Although living underwater, starfish are not actually fish! They do not have gill, scales or fins and move with the help of tiny tube feet; fish move with help of their tail and fins. Starfish are truly fascinating creatures!
